Drones

Drones are small aircraft (often without a pilot on board) that can be controlled from the ground or fly using sensors and software.

• In production, drones are a form of modern technology that helps people do tasks faster, more safely, and with better accuracy.
• In farming, drones can be used for spraying fertilisers or pesticides over fields, especially where it is hard for people or tractors to reach.
• Because they fly above the land, drones can also capture images to check crop health, spot pest attacks, or find areas that need more water—helping farmers take action early.
• Drones reduce the need for heavy manual work and can lower risks, such as workers being exposed to chemicals during spraying.
• They are different from robots that work on the ground: drones mainly help by working from the air, giving a “bird’s-eye view” and reaching places quickly.

Used well, drones can make production more efficient by saving time, improving quality, and reducing waste.
